Thus, he would avoid being disgraced again. Scheherazade, the daughter of the vizier, agreed to marry the cruel monarch. To avoid death after the wedding, she started to tell a tale without ending which ignited great curiosity in her husband and saved her from being beheaded. After one thousand and one nights of telling tales, Scheherazade turned the sultan into a good, loving and kind man.
