Commemorative Stamp and Coin Covers were inspired by the concept of the ‘first day cover’ – a postage stamp on a cover (envelope, postcard or package) franked on the first day of issue. Comprising a themed envelope featuring one or more Australia Post stamps and a specially designed coin, Stamp and Coin Covers have become extremely popular among collectors and gift buyers.
Australian Legal Tender Coin
The ANZAC Day coin portrays an aviation themed design comprising aircraft silhouettes surrounding a stylised motif representing a flaming torch and flying wings. Also included in the design are the inscriptions ANZAC, LEST WE FORGET and The Perth Mint’s historic ‘P’ mintmark.
Official Australia Post Stamp and Themed Envelope
The coin comes in an illustrated envelope featuring aviation-themed imagery, including a World War I bi-plane and a contemporary air-force officer holding a wreath. Similar motifs appear on the AUD 3.30 and AUD 1.10 stamps which are stamped with a wreath-shaped post mark.
This ANZAC Day Stamp and Coin Cover includes Australia Post’s Seal of Authenticity.
