2018 Australian Kangaroo High Relief Design
The reverse of the coin depicts two kangaroos in a stylised rural landscape bordered by the inscription AUSTRALIAN KANGAROO as well as the Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark, and the 2018 year-date.
The coin’s high relief reverse and obverse are minted on concave surfaces to ensure the optimum flow of metal is achieved by the strike of the die.
Australian Legal Tender
Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, the coin's obverse depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the 2018 year-date and the monetary denomination.
