The 2014 Young Collectors Superpowers series features six coins, each of which portrays an imaginative and exciting design to represent a superpower, with the third exciting release featuring the power of cybernetics.
A great gift for any budding young collector, the coin is housed in a presentation card which has fantastic illustrations and information about cybernetics.
The coin is struck from aluminium bronze and is issued as Australian legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, and has an unlimited mintage.
The coin’s reverse features a coloured representation of a cyborg with an artificial eye, and a mechanical arm and leg, kicking through a brick wall. As well as the inscription CYBERNETICS, the design also includes The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark.
The obverse of the coin depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the 2014 year-date and the monetary denomination.
