Key features:

  • Commemorative war memorial design
  • Cover design featuring embroided postcards, popular in WWI
  • Australian legal tender
  • Official Australia Post stamps

Symbol of remembrance

Anzac Day falls on 25 April each year, the day Australian and New Zealand troops landed on the Gallipoli peninsula in 1915. Since 1916, it has been dedicated to commemorative activities honouring the courage and sacrifice of the first ANZACs during World War I and all succeeding Defence Force personnel who have served in times of war and other operations.

2025 tribute

The coin portrays an Australian soldier standing in a contemplative pose, and a motif representing a torch with an eternal flame. The images are encircled by a representation of rosemary, a symbol of remembrance that grows wild at Gallipoli in Turkey, as well as the inscriptions ‘25 APRIL’ and ‘LEST WE FORGET’. Also on the reverse is the 2025 year-date and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark.

Australia Post stamp

The official $1.50 Australia Post stamp features an Australian flag, golden wattle, a map of Australia and the Coat of Arms with the words 'The Glory of Anzac'. Alongside it is an official $2.85 International Post stamp features the Australian Commonwealth Military Force emblem above the words 'SOUVENIR FROM FRANCE'. The postmark in the form a postcard includes the words ‘ANZAC DAY First Day of Issue 15 April 2025 Canberra ACT 2601’.

Presentation card

The cover features images of handwritten letters and embroidered silk postcards. The years of World War I saw the production of millions of embroidered silk postcards, in thousands of designs. France was the largest source, and the cards were especially popular among soldiers on the Western Front. Postcards sent by Australian soliders often featured the Australian flag and other national symbols. Also included are the words 'Postcards from the Front'.
