One of the most popular and influential deities of Imperial China and revered today across many eastern religions including Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism, Guan Yu is worshipped as a god of health, family, harmony, justice, prosperity, luck and fertility.
Deity Coin Design
The coin’s antiqued reverse depicts representations of Guan Yu among stylised clouds and an oriental dragon grasping a pearl, a symbol of wisdom and enlightenment. Guan Yu’s Green Dragon Crescent Blade is coloured purple and gold. The inscription ‘关羽’, which is the Chinese name for Guan Yu, also appears in the design.
This coin has been individually 'antiqued' to give it a unique finish conveying the surface abrasions of an ancient artefact. As a result of this treatment, the appearance of each coin may vary.
