2019 Year of the Pig Design
The coin’s reverse depicts a representation of a domesticated pig with four adorable piglets amid stylised foliage. The inscriptions ‘Year of the Pig’ and the Chinese character for ‘pig’ are also included in the design, together with The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mint mark.
Postal Numismatic Cover and Australia Post Stamps
The coin is housed in an illustrated card with a window displaying the coin’s reverse and obverse designs. The card also incorporates a Certificate of Authenticity. The beautifully coloured envelope portrays a stylised design of a smiling pig among pink and red lotus flowers, clouds and a traditional pergola shrine. The words ‘YEAR OF THE PIG 2019’ are featured in English and Chinese script.
Affixed to the envelope are $1 and $3 Australia Post Lunar New Year stamps postmarked for the first date of issue, 8 January 2019, with a special Lunar New Year pig postmark. The envelope includes Australia Post’s Seal of Authenticity.
