Issued on the19th July 2010, this stamp and coin cover commemorates the bloodiest day in Australian military history. Set on the plains of Flanders (France), the Battle of Fromelles claimed the lives of more than 1900 Australian deaths, over 3100 injured and 470 captured. Over 1000 of the deaths recovered after the war were unable to be identified and are buried as unknown soldiers in cemeteries in the area.
