This is the final release the Royal Australian Mint's new 'Privy Mark' for 2008.
The Royal Australian mint introduced the 'Privy Mark' (previously referred to as the Mintmark) earlier this year .
This release continues to celebrate the Centenary of Australia's Original Coat of Arms.
The Mint has introduced the term 'Privy Mark' to coins that are struck using a die that has been modified to include a letter commemorating the special release or event.
The release of the 2008 'M' (denoting 'M' for Melbourne).
To identify the privy mark coins, the privy marks will consist of a letter or symbol with a square surround.
