A hugely popular Bicentennial commemorative.
The RAM issued it's first ever NCLT (non-circulating legal tender) coin in 1985 - the $10 coin marking 150 years of settlement in Victoria. The RAM went on to issue a coin for each of the other states and Territories in Australia, this was a hugely popular series right around the country.
Australian memorabilia was in a boom period right throughout the Bicentennial year, coins were particularly popular as they were officially produced by the Australian government and were affordable.
The Bicentennial $10 coin was the highest value silver collectible coin released by the RAM for the Bicentennial in 1988.
