The coin’s reverse depicts an iconic scene from the ballad The Man from Snowy River in colour. A photographic portrait of Banjo Paterson is fringed by Banksia flowers, his signature, and the inscription A.B. “BANJO” PATERSON 1864 - 1941. The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark is also incorporated in the design.
The coin’s obverse features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the 2014 year-date and the monetary denomination.
