The coin’s reverse depicts a photographic portrait of Banjo Paterson fringed by Banksia flowers against a background of wild brumbies. His signature and the inscription A.B. "BANJO" PATERSON 1864 - 1941, also feature in the design with The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark.
The coin’s obverse features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the 2014 year-date and the monetary denomination.
