In 2018 we mark the 230th anniversary of the First Fleet’s arrival and the 150th anniversary of the voyage of the Hougoumont, which bore the last of the convicts transported to Australia.
The Royal Australian Mint will travel around Australia, with their mobile press, counterstamping a map of Australia on the 2018 al/bronze Rascals & Ratbags uncirculated one dollar. The Roadshow launched on the 12th May at the mint in Canberra. Some collectors experienced lengthy queues while trying to obtain this limited edition counterstamp. The first stops on the tour were Orange and Maitland NSW.
